ABOUT
Hello!
My name is Kara Liles and I am a 22 year old Production Assistant at Bally Sports Detroit, as well as an in-game host for the Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye, and a host and reporter at State Champs! Network. I stay very busy balancing each job, but have found I thrive while always on the go. While working at Bally Sports I have been fortunate to serve in many different roles that include editor, libero operator, stage manager, and feature shoot assistant. As a host with the Mud Hens and Walleye I am able to host the pregame ceremony, carry out promotions throughout the game, as well as in- game reports, interviews, and interacting with fans. I am the host of Ready, Set, Cheer as well as a feature reporter at State Champs! Network. I am a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Communication while earning a double minor in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and Sports Management. During my academic career I obtained 3 years of production experience. I had the privilege of working for the Chippewa Sports Network where I learned valuable professional skills such as video and audio editing, camera operations, game-day operations and how to be on-air talent. I also gained experience as a member of two student- produced shows through Central Michigan University’s MHTV. I have also had the opportunity to serve as an On-Field host for the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, an affiliate with the Minnesota Twins. Here I was able to gain skills in public speaking, hosting, and reporting. In both my academic and professional life, I have been praised as efficient by my professors and peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional projects, I apply leadership, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
